ABVP protests at JNU seeking time-bound probe into allegations against Manipur MP

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad staged a protest at Jawaharlal Nehru University on September 18, seeking what it called a fair and time-bound inquiry into sexual-harassment allegations reportedly made against Manipur MP and JNU professor Angomcha Bimol Akoijam.

ABVP said complaints had been submitted to the university’s Internal Committee and questioned the time taken in handling them. The allegations have not been established and require due process. The organisation said the inquiry should be transparent and free from political influence, while responsibility for determining the facts rests with the competent institutional process.
