Rajya Sabha MP Tai Tagak visited Miji Migumn Yarko in Ziro Valley on September 18, highlighting the role of indigenous education in preserving Arunachal Pradesh’s languages, belief systems and community traditions. The residential school combines formal studies with lessons in local culture, values and traditional practices.

Tagak interacted with those running the institution and expressed support for initiatives that help younger generations learn their mother tongue alongside conventional education. The school is supported by indigenous cultural organisations and the state’s Department of Indigenous Affairs, and is part of a wider effort to keep traditional knowledge relevant within modern schooling.
