Bimol Akoijam questions delay in Home Ministry response on Manipur SoO issue

Manipur Lok Sabha MP Angomcha Bimol Akoijam has expressed disappointment over what he described as a delay by the Union Home Ministry in responding to issues he raised in Parliament about the Suspension of Operations agreement with Kuki armed groups.

Akoijam said he raised the matter under Rule 377 of the Lok Sabha on August 11 and had yet to receive a response more than a month later. His comments keep attention on the terms, implementation and political implications of the SoO arrangement, which remains an important part of the wider security debate in Manipur.
