Brookfield plans to invest up to $600 million in India’s ACME Cleantech Ventures to support the development and construction of green ammonia and green methanol projects. The deal brings substantial international capital into a segment seen as important for decarbonising industries that are difficult to electrify directly.
Green ammonia and methanol are being developed as lower-carbon alternatives for industrial use, shipping and energy applications, although costs and large-scale demand remain key challenges. The Brookfield investment underscores growing interest in India as a base for renewable-energy-linked fuel production and export infrastructure.
