England recall Trent Alexander-Arnold and Cole Palmer for Nations League

England head coach Thomas Tuchel has recalled Trent Alexander-Arnold and Cole Palmer to the national squad for the Nations League campaign. Both players were left out of England’s World Cup squad, and Tuchel said their return gives them an opportunity to compete again for a regular place.

England open the campaign against world champions Spain at Wembley before further fixtures against the Czech Republic and Croatia. Tuchel has made 10 changes from the World Cup group and described the new international cycle as a fresh start, with Euro 2028 now the longer-term target.
