Himanta Biswa Sarma pitches Assam as emerging global investment hub

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma used the ICC Global Business Summit in New Delhi to position the state as an expanding investment and connectivity hub. He pointed to Assam’s location, improving infrastructure, workforce and policy environment while inviting global companies to consider new projects in the state.

Sarma highlighted opportunities across manufacturing, logistics, tourism, energy and newer industries, arguing that the Northeast can contribute more significantly to India’s economic growth. The pitch reflects Assam’s wider effort to attract private capital while using transport links and regional connectivity to strengthen its economic role.
