India has rejected Pakistan’s account of a collision involving Indian Navy destroyer INS Kolkata and Pakistani naval vessel PNS Hunain in international waters in the North Arabian Sea. The Ministry of External Affairs said INS Kolkata was on routine deployment when the incident occurred.
New Delhi accused the Pakistani ship of acting in an unacceptable and unprofessional manner and disputed Islamabad’s allegations about the circumstances. The incident has added a maritime dimension to already strained India-Pakistan relations, with both sides presenting competing versions of the encounter.
