The new representative body says it will focus on peace, unity, welfare and development across the Mebo area of Arunachal Pradesh.

The Mebo Area Yameng Kebang has been formally constituted as a common youth platform for the Mebo area of East Siang district. The organisation was formed after local consultations and is intended to bring young people onto a shared platform around community welfare, social harmony and development concerns.
At a meeting on September 18, Indu Yommin was chosen as the body’s first president and Kalen Pertin as general secretary. Members also discussed the organisation’s structure and priorities. The initiative adds a new civil-society forum in Mebo at a time when youth groups increasingly participate in local development, social issues and community coordination.
