Nagaland has launched a statewide awareness initiative focused on human papillomavirus vaccination and cervical-cancer prevention. The Health and Family Welfare Department introduced ‘Teeka Talk’ in collaboration with Girl Effect India, with adolescent girls, parents and communities among the main audiences.
The campaign is intended to make reliable vaccine information easier to access through schools, government departments and digital communication. HPV vaccination is an important preventive tool against infections associated with cervical cancer and several other cancers, and the state is seeking to improve awareness before misinformation or uncertainty becomes a barrier to uptake.
