A region-specific approach to implementing the National Education Policy 2020 has emerged as a central theme at the Northeast Education Conclave in Nagaland. Participants from the eight states discussed the need for policies that reflect difficult terrain, linguistic diversity, smaller institutions and the realities of hilly and remote areas.

The discussions are intended to develop a common regional roadmap that can be placed before the Centre. Education officials and ministers are examining school, higher and technical education as well as technology, innovation and skills, with coordination across state boundaries seen as important to closing implementation gaps.
